2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
3 APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA
STATE LIBRARY FOR THE 2010/2011 PUBLIC LIBRARY
4 STAFF EDUCATION PROGRAM AND THE
5 APPROPRIATION OF ANY FUNDS RECEIVED

WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library meets the eligibility criteria to
7
apply for funds under the 2010/2011 Public Library Staff Education Program; and8
9 WHEREAS, the goals of the City Council and the objectives of the Library
10 support learning; and
11 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library has library school students who wish to
12 compete for the tuition assistance funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of

Carlsbad, California as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
17 2. That Library is authorized to apply to the California State Library for a
18 grant on behalf of these employees.
19 3. That any grant funds awarded are accepted and upon receipt by the City
20 Finance Department will be appropriated to the Library Administration Budget tuition
21 reimbursement account.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 23rd day of March, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
