2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A $2,000 GRANT
3 FROM THE NORTH COASTAL PREVENTION COALITION
FOR USE IN PROMOTING AWARENESS AND
UTILIZATION OF THE SOCIAL HOST ORDINANCE IN THE
5 CITY OF CARLSBAD

7 WHEREAS, the North County Prevention Coalition offered a grant of $2,000 to
8 the Carlsbad Police Department to promote heightened enforcement of the Social Host
o ordinance; and
10 WHEREAS, it is the desire of Carlsbad Police Department to conduct Social Host
11
ordinance details to help reduce underage drinking in the City of Carlsbad; and
12
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the grant of $2,000 from the North
Coastal Prevention Coalition, and:14
15 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the generosity and support
16 of the North Coastal Prevention Coalition, and
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
18 California, as follows:
19 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the City Council accepts the donation for the Police Department to
21
provide directed enforcement in the support of the Social Host ordinance.22
23 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $2,000 to the Police
24 Department for said enforcement details.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 8th day of June, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard, Blackburn
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
