2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE
3 PURCHASE, PURSUANT TO THE WESTERN STATES
4 CONTRACTING ALLIANCE CONTRACT, OF A HEWLETT
PACKARD BLADE SERVER SYSTEM

WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad has determined the need for an additional blade
6
server system at the Faraday data center; and
7
WHEREAS, the purchase of the blade server system will be done through a8
9 Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) contract vendor; and
!0 WHEREAS, Hewlett Packard is an authorized WSCA contract vendor; and
11 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
12 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the purchase of a Hewlett Packard blade server system, pursuant to
15
Western States Contracting Alliance contract with Hewlett Packard, is
16
hereby approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute all
1 „ required documents or purchase orders on behalf of the City.
19 3. That the purchase of a blade server system from Hewlett Packard and
20 maintenance and support with Hewlett Packard shall not exceed $121,223
21 as further described in the pricing per WSCA contract no. B27164-CA for
22 the City of Carlsbad by Hewlett Packard.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 22nd day of June, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Council Member Packard.
