2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
3 DONATION FROM THE PACIFIC LIBRARY
4 PARTNERSHIP TO THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY
LITERACY PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE
5 APROPRIATION OF THE FUNDS
6 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library Literacy program participated in the 2010
Learner Persistence Project for which they have received a $1,000 donation from the
8 Pacific Library Partnership; and
9
WHEREAS, the Library proposes to use these funds to support Learner
10
Persistence training for staff, as the first step toward implementing local program
12 strategies that were identified through participation in the Learner Persistence Project.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
14 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $1,000 from the Pacific
17
Library Partnership on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and authorizes18
-19 the Finance Director to appropriate the received funds to the Library
20 budget.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 14th day of, September, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
