2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,

WHEREAS, Proposition 19, also known as the "Regulate, Control and Tax

Cannabis Act of 2010", was certified for the November statewide ballot on March 24,
6
2010.

WHEREAS, Proposition 19, if approved by voters, will legalize various marijuana-
o
related activities, allow local governments to regulate these activities, permit local
governments to impose and collect marijuana-related fees and taxes, and authorize
11 various criminal and civil penalties.

13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
14 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
15
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the City Council opposes Proposition 19 on the November 2, 2010,

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 26th day of October, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Blackburn.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
