HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-11-09; City Council; Resolution 2010-247Exhibit 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2010-247 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE CALIFORNIA 3 OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY.DUI MINI-GRANT AND 4 APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO CONDUCT TWO SOBRIETY CHECKPOINTS IN THE CITY OF CARLSBAD. 22 5 6 WHEREAS, the California Office of Traffic Safety approved the City of Carlsbad's 7 applications for their Sobriety Checkpoint Mini-Grant Program for Local law o Enforcement Agencies; and WHEREAS, the goal of this competitive grant is to reduce the number of people 11 killed statewide in alcohol-related crashes; and 12 WHEREAS, it is the desire of Carlsbad Police Department to participate in this 13 program to help reduce drunk driving locally; and 14 WHEREAS, all overtime costs related to the two checkpoints are fully reimbursable through the Office of Traffic Safety DUI Mini-grants. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of 17 Carlsbad, California, as follows:18 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 20 2. That the Police Chief is authorized to execute all appropriate agreements with 21 the California Office of Traffic Safety for receipt of the subject grant funds, as well as any required reports and/or final statements. 23 3.
