2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND
3 APPROPRIATING FEDERAL STATE HOMELAND
4 SECURITY GRANT FUNDS TO THE FIRE AND POLICE
DEPARTMENTS FOR EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

6 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Fire and Police Departments are eligible to
7 receive federal grant funds through the FY 2010 State Homeland Security Grant
8 (SHSG) for emergency preparedness. The total amount of the grant is up to $204,970.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of

Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. The SHSG grant funds require no matching funds and all grant-related
14 purchases and planning costs are 100% reimbursable.
15 3. That Council authorizes the receipt of grant funds.
4. The Finance Director is authorized to appropriate funds totaling $204,970
17 from the General Fund to Fire Department budget for the planned
18
expenditures.

5. That the Fire Chief, Police Chief or their designee, is authorized to
execute any and all documentation associated with the FY 2010 State
22 Homeland Security Grant to enhance the City of Carlsbad's emergency
23 preparedness programs.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 25th day of January, 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas and Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
