2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
3 DONATION FROM THE NORTH SAN DIEGO COUNTY
GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY TO THE CARLSBAD CITY
LIBRARY AND APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS

WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library has received a donation of $6,586 from

the North San Diego County Genealogy Society, and;
7 WHEREAS, the Society has requested these funds be used for the purchase
8 and maintenance of a BookScan Center for the Genealogy Division of the Georgina
9 Cole Library, and;
WHEREAS, the Society has pledged future donations to support two additional
years of maintenance services for the BookScan Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
12 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
13 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
14 2. That the City Council accepts the gift of $6,586 for the purchase and
15 maintenance of the BookScan Center and pledge of future contributions
16 from the Society to support two additional years of maintenance.
17 3. That the City Council authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate the
received funds to the Library's budget.18

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 26th day of April, 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas and Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
