2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PLANS AND
3 SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CORRUGATED METAL PIPE
4 REPLACEMENT PROGRAM - HOLLY BRAE LANE/EL CAMINO
REAL, HIGHLAND DRIVE/JAMES DRIVE AND MALLORCA
5 PLACE, PROJECT NO. 6607.
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
7 necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP)
8 Replacement Program - Holly Brae Lane/El Camino Real, Highland Drive/James Drive and
9 Mallorca Place, Project No. 6607; and
10 WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
11 equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the CMP Replacement
12 Program - Holly Brae Lane/El Camino Real, Highland Drive/James Drive and Mallorca Place,
13 Project No. 6607, have been prepared and are on file in the Utilities-Engineering Department of
14 the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and
,_ WHEREAS, funding for said project has been appropriated from the Infrastructure

„_ Replacement Fund (IRF) to cover all project costs and is sufficient.16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:18
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications and contract documents for the CMP Replacement
Program - Holly Brae Lane/El Camino Real, Highland Drive/James Drive and
Mallorca Place, Project No. 6607, are on file in the Utilities-Engineering
Department of the City of Carlsbad and are hereby approved.

3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to24
publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the^o
CMP Replacement Program - Holly Brae Lane/El Camino Real, Highland

Drive/James Drive and Mallorca Place, Project No. 6607, in accordance with the

plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.7

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 10th day of May 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas, Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
