A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
2 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE LAKE CALAVERA PRESERVE
3 EMP GRANT FENCING, PROJECT No. SS 09-01 (B)

WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad, California, was awarded a TransNet Environmental
6 Mitigation Program (EMP) Grant from the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) for
7 the Lake Calavera Preserve Planning Area Access Control and Habitat Restoration Project; and
8 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
9 necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to provide fencing and access control within the
10 Lake Calavera Preserve area; and
11 WHEREAS, funds have been appropriated to the Fiscal Year 2009/10 City of Carlsbad
12 Habitat Management Program for the fencing and access control project; and
13 WHEREAS, EMP Grant funds in the amount of $111,667, and city funds in the amount
14 of $76,539, are available for the access control project; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to installation of fencing
and access control for the Lake Calavera Preserve EMP Grant Fencing, Project No. SS 09-01(8)
have been prepared and are on file in the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of
Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference.
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
22 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That funds are available in the City of Carlsbad Habitat Management Program

Budget for reimbursement of the estimated costs of the fencing and access
25
control project at the Lake Calavera Preserve Area.

3. That funds have been awarded to the City of Carlsbad Parks and Recreation27
Department from the SANDAG EMP Grant program for fencing and access28
1 control for the Lake Calavera Preserve Area and such funds are available for the
2 project.
3 4. That the plans, specifications and contract documents for the Lake Calavera
4 Preserve BMP Grant Fencing, Project No. SS 09-01(6) are on file in the Parks
and Recreation Department of the City of Carlsbad and are hereby approved.
5. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
7 publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the

Lake Calavera Preserve BMP Grant Fencing, Project No. SS 09-01(8) in
9 accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents referred to
10 herein. Sets of plans, various supplemental provisions, and contract documents
11 may be obtained at the Faraday Center, located at 1635 Faraday Avenue,
12 Carlsbad, California 92008.
