A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CALAVERA HILLS
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT DEMOLITION PROJECT.

PROJECT NO. 5507.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, desires to remove all
6
existing buildings, holding tanks, and large aeration ditches at the existing Calavera Hills
7
Wastewater Treatment Plant, Project No. 5507; and
8
RESOLUTION NO. 2011-110
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
10 equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the Calavera Hills
Treatment Plant Demolition Project, Project No. 5507, have been prepared and are on file in the
Transportation Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and

WHEREAS, the project is exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)
13
per CEQA Guidelines Section 15268 - Ministerial projects.

WHEREAS, funding for said project has been previously appropriated from the Sewer
15
Replacement Fund to cover estimated project costs, and;
16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
17
California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the Calavera Hills
20 Treatment Plant Demolition Project, Project No. 5507 are on file in the Utility Department of the
21 City of Carlsbad and are hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
po publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the Calavera Hills
PA Treatment Plant Demolition Project, Project No. 5507, in accordance with the plans, specifications,

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 24th day of May , 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas, Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
