2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE FY 10 US
3 DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE OFFICE OF JUSTICE
4 PROGRAMS CONGRESSIONALLY SELECTED AWARD
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS.
5 :
6 WHEREAS, Carlsbad Police Department has been awarded an FY 2010 USDOJ
7 Office of Justice Programs Congressionally Selected Award in the amount of $300,000;
8 and
9
WHEREAS, Carlsbad Police Department will use the funds to purchase training
10
props, protective gear, shooting simulation software and equipment, audio visual
11
equipment, firearm maintenance and cleaning equipment, and tools for the Joint First
12
Responders Training Facility; and
14 WHEREAS, the Joint First Responders Training Facility capital improvement
15 project construction budget does not include the equipment to be purchased with this
16 award;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
18 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
19 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That Council accepts the funds awarded by this Congressionally Selected
21
Award.22
23 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to appropriate $300,000 for FY 2010
24 USDOJ Office of Justice Programs Congressionally Selected Award
25 purchases.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 7th day of June 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas, Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
