2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
3 ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS
4 OF THE CARLSBAD LIBRARY AND AUTHORIZING
THE APPROPRIATION OF THE RECEIVED FUNDS

6 WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library have made a donation
7 of $2,250 to the Library; and
8 WHEREAS, the donation represents $1,000 which resulted from their quilt
g fundraiser, a $500 donation from the Ken Blanchard Companies on behalf of their

employee Joanne Maynard, and a $750 donation from AOL to support library
11
programs featured on its subsidiary, Patch.com; and
12
WHEREAS, the Library plans to use the funds for the purchase of materials

14 and in support of library programs;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
16 Carlsbad, California, as follows:

18 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
19 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $2,250 from the Friends of
20 the Carlsbad Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and authorizes
21 the Finance Director to appropriate the received funds to the Library
22
budget.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 26th day of July, 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Blackburn, Douglas and Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Council Member Kulchin.
