1 RESOLUTION NO. 2011-231
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL
3 EVENT GRANT TO THE AGUA HEDIONDA LAGOON
4 FOUNDATION AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE
DIRECTOR TO APPROPRIATE SAID FUNDS.

WHEREAS, the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation has requested a Special
6
Event Grant to assist in the event production costs for the first Kayak Regatta; and
7
WHEREAS, the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation is sponsoring a family-8
Q friendly community oriented event to be held on the Agua Hedionda Lagoon on October
10 22nd; and
11 WHEREAS, Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation shall be awarded a Special
12 Event Grant not to exceed $10,000; which includes $3,030 for in-kind city services and
13 $6,970 in direct cash assistance.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
15 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
17 2. That the Carlsbad City Council hereby authorizes the Finance Director to
18
appropriate $3,030 from the City Council's General Fund contingency account
19
to various General Fund budgets for in-kind City services for the Agua
20
2 Hedionda Lagoon Foundation's Kayak Regatta.
22 3. That the Carlsbad City Council hereby approves a Special Event cash
23 donation in the amount of $6,970 for the Agua Hedionda Lagoon Foundation
24 event from the City Council's General Fund contingency account, and
9S authorizes release of said funds to the event organizers through the
26 . .reimbursement process.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 11 th day of October 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas.
NOES: Council Member Packard.
ABSENT: None.
