CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 4
TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
PSOMAS FOR THE HOME PLANT SEWER LIFT STATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
necessary and in the public interest to approve Amendment No. 4 to the agreement for
professional eservices with Psomas for the design of Home Plant Sewer Lift Station Replacement,
Project No. 5509; and
WHEREAS, On June 10, 2008, the City entered into an agreement with Psomas in the
amount of $290,938 to provide engineering design and environmental services; and11
WHEREAS, three (3) subsequent amendments have been authorized to Psomas for the

total amount of $77,879; and
13 WHEREAS, City staff and Psomas have negotiated fees in an amount not-to-exceed
14 $67,370 to provide additional engineering and environmental services for the project, as described
in this Amendment No. 4 to Professional Services Agreement; and
WHEREAS, funds have been appropriated from the Sewer Replacement Fund and are
sufficient for the completion of this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That Amendment No. 4 to Agreement with Psomas in an amount not-to-exceed
$67,370 to the agreement for professional services with Psomas for the design of Home Plant
Sewer Lift Station Replacement, Project No. 5509 is approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized
and directed to execute said amendment.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 6th day of December 2011, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas, Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
