^ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
3 CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING
DONATIONS OF $4,500 IN CASH AND $10,112 IN IN-KIND SERVICES
4 IN SUPPORT OF THE CARLSBAD HEALTH EXPO AND TRIATHLON

WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Community Health & Fitness Expo and 30'^ annual
Carlsbad Triathlon special events were held on July 9 and 10, 2011 in Carlsbad; and
8 WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the donations of cash and in-
9 kind products and services totaling $14,612 in support of the Carlsbad Health Expo
10 and Triathlon, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 2 and made a part
hereof; and
WHEREAS, $2,500 of the total cash donations that were received in Fiscal
Year 2010-11 were not appropriated at the time nor during the Fiscal Year 2011-12
budget process; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to acknowledge the generosity and support

of community vendors and organizations that donated to this special event; and
18 WHEREAS, on September 19, 2011, the Parks & Recreation Commission
19 received the cash and in-kind services totaling $14,612 and recommended acceptance
20 by the Council.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, the following:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council does hereby accept $14,612 in cash and in-kind
products and service donations as itemized in Exhibit 2 and authorizes the finance
director to appropriate received funds to the Parks & Recreation Triathlon special
