2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A
DONATION FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE CARLSBAD
4 LIBRARY AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION
OF THE RECEIVED FUNDS

6 WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library have donated $56,734
7 J for the purchase of library materials and in support of the literacy program and
Carlsbad Reads Together; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library have pledged an
additional $43,266 in direct support for a variety of programs including Summer
Reading;
^3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,

California, as follows:

16 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2. That the City Council acknowledges with thanks the pledge of $43,266 in
direct support.
3. That the City Council accepts the donation of $56,734 from the Friends
of the Carlsbad Library on behalf of all citizens of Carlsbad, and
22 authorizes the Finance Director to appropriate the received funds to the
23 Library budget.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 10*^ day of July, 2012, by the following vote to wit:
