2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
3 AND APPROPRIATING A DONATION TO THE
. CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY 4
5 WHEREAS, the San Diego Council on Literacy on behalf of the Union Tribune
g has donated $805 to the City of Carlsbad for the Carlsbad City Library literacy
program, and;
WHEREAS, the donation is the result of the Union Tribune initiated 2-cent
Sunday subscription fund raiser for the San Diego Council on Literacy; and

WHEREAS, according to the conditions of the fundraiser, the local literacy
11 program participating would receive $7 for every subscription sold; and
12 WHEREAS, 115 subscriptions were sold on behalf of the Carlsbad City
Library's literacy program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of

Carlsbad, California, as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
18 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $805 from the San Diego
19 Council on Literacy on behalf of the Union Tribune and directs the Finance
Director to appropriate the received funds to the Library's budget

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 10*^ day of July, 2012, by the following vote to wit:

Council Members Hall, Kulchin, Blackburn, Douglas and Packard.
None.
ABSENT: None.
