2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN
3 APPLICATION FOR ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION GRANT
PROGRAM FUNDS THROUGH THE SAN DIEGO ASSOCIATION
4 OF GOVERNMENTS FOR MOBILE VILLAGE: A WAY FINDING
APPLICATION FOR MOBILE DEVICES, AND ACCEPTING THE
5 TERMS OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT.

WHEREAS, $8.8 million of Transportation Development Act/TransNet funding for capital
and non-capital active transportation projects is available to local jurisdictions and the County of
San Diego from Fiscal Year 2011-2012; and
WHEREAS, City of Carisbad wishes to receive $40,000 in Active Transportation Grant
funds for the following project: Mobile village: A way finding application for mobile devices; and
WHEREAS, City of Carisbad understands that the Active Transportation Grant Program
funding is fixed at the programmed amount, and therefore project cost increases that exceed the
grant awarded will be the sole responsibility of the grantee; and
WHEREAS, City of Carisbad agrees to complete the proposed grant project within a
timely matter and in compliance with Board Policy No. 035.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by City Council that City of Carisbad is
authorized to submit an application to SANDAG for Active Transportation Grant Program funding
in the amount of $40,000 for Mobile village: A way finding application for mobile devices; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, if a grant award is made by SANDAG to fund: Mobile
village: A way finding application for mobile devices, City Council commits to providing $10,000 of
22 nnatching funds (in addition to $40,000) and/or in-kind contributions and authorizes the City
23 Manager or designee to accept the grant funds, execute the attached grant agreement with
24 SANDAG with no exceptions, and complete the Project.

of the City of Carlsbad on the 10*^ day of July, 2012, by the following vote to wit:
