2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION TOTALING $3,000 IN
SUPPORT OF THE OPPORTUNITY GRANT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM,
4 PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND APPROPRIATION OF
RECEIVED FUNDS

WHEREAS, Carlsbad Lightning Soccer Club has provided a donation to the City of

Carlsbad totaling $3,000; and
WHEREAS, the funds received through the donation by Carlsbad Lightning Soccer Club

will support the Opportunity Grant Scholarship Program and Parks Maintenance Contribution
11 Revenue Fund; and
12 WHEREAS, on January 28, 2013 the Parks and Recreation Commission recommended

acceptance of the donation totaling $3,000 by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this donation in the amount of $3,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
2. That the City Council does hereby accept $3,000 in cash donation.
3. That the City Council authorizes the finance director to appropriate the $3,000
upon receipt to the Opportunity Grant Scholarship Fund and Parks & Recreation
