CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING GRANT FUNDS TO
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FROM SAN DIEGO GAS AND ELECTRIC FOR

WHEREAS, Carlsbad Fire Department is eligible to receive a San Diego Gas and Electric

y (SDG&E) Safe San Diego Initiative grant for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
8 program; and
^ WHEREAS, on June 26, 2012 Council authorized and thereafter the Fire Department
applied for the SDG&E Safe San Diego Initiative CERT grant in the amount of $2,500 and SDG&E
has approved the Fire Department grant request; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,

14 California, as follows that:
15 1. The above recitations are true and correct.

j9 4. The Finance Director is authorized to appropriate the $2,500 SDG&E CERT grant
20 funds to the Fire Department Emergency Preparedness Program.
5. The Fire Chief, or Fire Chiefs designee, is authorized to execute any and all
documentation associated with the SDG&E CERT grant to enhance the City of
Carlsbad's Emergency Preparedness Program.
2. The SDG&E grant funds require no matching funds.
3. The Council authorizes the receipt of grant funds.
