2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING AN AD HOC
^ SUBCOMMITTEE TO REVIEW APPLICATIONS FOR CITY
4 TREASURER AND SELECT APPLICANTS TO MAKE
PRESENTATIONS TO THE CITY COUNCIL

6 WHEREAS, due to the resignafion of City Treasurer Jim Comstock a
7 vacancy in the position of City Treasurer is hereby declared; and
^ WHEREAS, the term of office in which said vacancy was created is due to
expire in November 2014;
WHEREAS, Carlsbad Municipal Code secfion 2.04.030 provides that the
City Council may appoint a City Treasurer to serve the remainder of the unexpired term
within 60 days ofthe effecfive date ofthe vacancy; and
WHEREAS, nineteen applicants have applied for the posifion of City

15 Treasurer posifion.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
17 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitafions are true and correct.
2. That the Mayor shall appoint the following members to an ad hoc
subcommittee to review the applications for the position of City Treasurer:

24 3. That the subcommittee will select between three and five of those
25 applicants to make presentafions before the City Council at the March 19, 2013 City
Council workshop.

of the City of Carlsbad on the 12th day of March 2013, by the following vote to wit:
