CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A CASH
^ DONATION AND AN IN-KIND DONATION OF SERVICES
4 IN SUPPORT OF THE 2013 TGIF JAZZ IN THE PARKS
CONCERT SERIES

WHEREAS, the Carisbad Friends of the Arts has generously offered to donate

$20,000 to the Cultural Arts Office for the TGIF Jazz in the Parks concert series; and

^ WHEREAS, this donation will provide $20,000 for operational services such as
IQ shuttle buses, porta-toilets, truck rentals, trash and recycling services, and supplies at
11 the TGIF Jazz concerts; and
12 WHEREAS, Modern Postcard, a nationally renowned company based in
Carlsbad, has generously printed 3,000 copies of the 2013 TGIF Jazz announcement
card at no charge and 8,000 copies of the 2013 TGIF Jazz Souvenir Program at cost as
in-kind donations valued at $6,234.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

20 2. That the City Council accepts the donation of $20,000 from the Carlsbad
21 Friends of the Arts to cover operational services related to the TGIF Jazz
concerts and accepts $6,234 of in-kind and donated printing services from

Modern Postcard.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Special Meeting ofthe City Council ofthe
City of Carlsbad on the 18^^ day of June, 2013, by the following vote to wit:

Council Members Hall, Packard, Wood, Blackburn and Douglas.
None.
ABSENT: None.
