2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING DONATIONS TOTALING $1,500, FOR A
PARKS MEMORIAL BENCH AND MEMORIAL TREE.

5 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Parks and Recreation Department administers a parks memorial

bench and tree program; and
WHEREAS, Steven Nelson and Lorraine Edwards donated $850, and $650, respectively,
during Fiscal Year 2012-13, to the City of Carlsbad for the purpose of purchasing a memorial
bench and a memorial tree; and
11 WHEREAS, on June 17, 2013, the Parks and Recreation Commission unanimously
12 recommended the City Council accept these donations totaling $1,500, and
WHEREAS, the city council wishes to accept these donations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows that:

2. That the city council accepts the donations totaling $1,500, on behalf of all
citizens of Carlsbad.
