HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-11-05; City Council; Resolution 2013-250RESOLUTION NO. 2013-250 WHEREAS, the City Council of Carlsbad, California has determined that it is necessary. 1 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT TO 4 TC CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE 2013 PAVEMENT OVERLAY PROJECT NO. 6001-13-OL 5 " 6 7 desirable, and in the public's best interest to construct the 2013 Pavement Overiay Project No. 8 6001-13-OL; and ^ WHEREAS, on June 18, 2013, the City Coundl of the City of Carisbad approved plans for 10 the construction ofthe 2013 Pavement Overiay Project No. 6001-13-OL; and 11 WHEREAS, twelve (12) sealed bids were received on September 23, 2013 by the City of 12 ^ 3 Carisbad for the construction of the 2013 Pavement Overlay Project No. 6001-13-OL; and 14 WHEREAS, the lowest responsive and responsible bid to construct said project was 15 submitted by TC Construction Company in the amount of $748,744; and 16 WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds available in the Pavement Management Program 17 to complete the project; and 18 WHEREAS, subsection 3.28.040(C)(5) of the Carisbad Munidpal Code authorizes the 19 2Q City Manager to approve change orders in the amount equal to the contingency set at the time of 21 project award. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Coundl of the City of Carlsbad, 23 California, as follows: 24 1. That the low bid of $748,744 submitted by TC Construction Company for the construction ofthe 2013 Pavement Overlay Project No. 6001-13-OL is accepted and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a contract for this project. 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to approve construction change orders up to $100,000. 4. That the award of this contract is contingent upon the bidder submitting the lowest responsible bid executing the required contract and submitting the required bonds and insurance policies, as described in the contract, within twenty (20) days of adoption of this resolution.
