HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-11-05; City Council; Resolution 2013-253Exhibit 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2013-253 3 5 6 7 8 9 10 25 26 27 28 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR TO APPROVE AND APPROPRIATE POLICE ASSET 4 FORFEITURE FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF MOBILE (HAND HELD) POLICE RADIOS. WHEREAS, as commercial production of mobile (hand held) radios continuously evolves, older models become unserviceable; and WHEREAS, the majority of radios in use by the Police Department are older models; and WHEREAS, some of these radios can no longer be repaired and need immediate 11 replacement; and 12 WHEREAS, the Police Department needs to purchase eight new radios; and 13 WHEREAS, police federal asset forfeiture funds are available for the purchase of mobile 14 (hand held) police radios; and 15 WHEREAS, radios are not budgeted via the General Fund, so use of asset forfeiture 16 ly funds is not supplanting and is allowed. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carisbad, 19 California, as follows that: 1. The above recitations are true and correct. The cost of eight mobile radios, including programming, accessories, and sales 20 21 22 23 tax is $31,730. Use of federal asset forfeiture funds is allowable (not supplanting), because 24 radios have not been purchased via the General Fund. 3.
