A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF
^ CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
4 SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF EL CAMINO
5 REAL WIDENING, MEDIAN IMPROVEMENTS,
UNDERGROUNDING UTILITIES, AND UPGRADING TRAFFIC
6 SIGNALS. PROJECT NOS. 3957. 3643. 6302. 6303.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to improve operations, enhance mobility and
® provide connectivity for all modes of travel with the construction of El Camino Real widening,
10 median improvements, undergrounding utilities, and upgrading traffic signals from Tamarack
11 Avenue to Chestnut Avenue; and
12 WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing all labor, materials, tools,
13 equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the El Camino Real
14 widening, median improvements, undergrounding utilities, and upgrading traffic signals. Project
Nos. 3957, 3643, 6302, 6303, have been prepared and are on file in the Public Works
^ g Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, funding for said project has been appropriated from the Traffic Impact Fee
(TIF), Public Facilities Fees and Gas Tax, TransNet (Local and Miscellaneous) and Infrastructure
Replacement funds and are sufficient.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the construction of El
Camino Real widening, median improvements, undergrounding utilities, and upgrading traffic
signals. Project Nos. 3957, 3643, 6302, 6303, have been prepared and are on file in the Public
Works Department ofthe City of Carlsbad and are hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to
publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the construction of
1 El Camino Real widening, median improvements, undergrounding utilities, and upgrading traffic
2 signals. Project Nos. 3957, 3643, 6302, 6303, in accordance with the plans, specifications, and
3 contract documents referred to herein.

of Carlsbad on the 6*^ day of May, 2014, by the following vote to wit:
