WHEREAS, the plans and specification for furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
4 SPECIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE
FOR BIDS AND APPROVING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION
5 FOR BRIDGE RAILING IMPROVEMENTS, LOCATED ON CARLSBAD
BOULEVARD NORTH QF MOUNTAIN VIEW DRIVE, PROJECT NOS.

8 WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Carlsbad, California, has determined it necessary,

J2 transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the Bridge Railing Improvements,
14 Project Nos. 3557, 6016, have been prepared and are on file in the Public Works Department of
15 the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting an additional appropriation amount of $30,000 of Gas Tax
funds for the necessary wall rehabilitation work related to the Bridge Railing Improvements; and
WHEREAS, Highway Bridge Program and TransNet local funds for said project have been
appropriated and are sufficient.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bythe City Council ofthe City of Carlsbad, California,
22 as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for Bridge Railing
mprovements. Project Nos. 3557, 6016, have been prepared and are on file in the Public Works

27 Department ofthe City of Carlsbad and are hereby approved

1 3. The Administrative Services Director is authorized to appropriate $30,000 from
the Gas Tax Fund for necessary wall rehabilitation work.
4. The City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish,
in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the Bridge Railing
Improvements, Project Nos. 3557, 6016, in accordance with the plans, specifications, and
