2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A 2014 DONATION OF $78,685 AND A
PLEDGE OF $31,315 IN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FROM THE FRIENDS
4 OF THE CARLSBAD CITY UBRARY TO THE CARLSBAD LIBRARY &
CULTURAL ARTS DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE
5 ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR TO APPROPRIATE THE
RECEIVED FUNDS.

y WHEREAS, the Friends ofthe Carlsbad City Library have donated $78,685 to the City of
8 Carlsbad for the Carlsbad City Library, and;
^ WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carisbad City Library have pledged an additional $31,315

in direct support for Library programs during the year; and

12 WHEREAS, the donation from the Friends ofthe Carlsbad City Library augment the
13 budget for the Library allowing the purchase of materials and the continuation of programs for
14 the community which otherwise might not have been possible.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
19 2. That the City Council accepts the gift of $78,685 and the pledge of $31,315 from the

Friends of the Carlsbad City Library and directs a letter of thanks, on behalf of all
residents of Carlsbad, and hereby authorizes the Administrative Services Director to
appropriate the received funds to the Library & Cultural Arts operating budget.

of Carlsbad on the 22nd day of July 2014, by the following vote to wit:
