2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
3 CALIFORNIA, TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH PRAVA CONSTRUCTION SERVICES INC. FOR
4 DESIGN/BUILD SERVICES FOR RENOVATIONS TO THE LAS PALMAS
PROPERTY, LOCATED AT 2075 LAS PALMAS DRIVE, PROJECT NO.

7 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad owns the office building located at 2075 Las Palmas
8 Drive; and,
WHEREAS, this office building was constructed in 1985 and is now in need of roof and
HVAC system replacement; and,
WHEREAS, roof replacement was included as part of the Fiscal Year 2013-14 Capital
Improvement Program; and,
14 WHEREAS, HVAC replacement was included in the city's Infrastructure Replacement
15 Plan for Fiscal Year 2014-15, and,
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad is in negotiations with Mira Costa College to potentially
establish a satellite facility at this location; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the selection criteria for a design-build
2Q procurement for this project, and,
21 WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute an
22 agreement with Prava Construction Services in the amount of $388,538.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
