RESOLUTION NO. 2015-052
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING OUT OF STATE TRAVEL FOR FIRE
MARSHAL M ETZ
WHEREAS, City Council Policy Number 2 governs requests for out of state travel by
employees when such travel benefits the City of Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that it is in the public's best interest to authorize out
of state travel for Fire Marshal Metz to attend the International Code Council Building & Fire
Code Hearings on April 20-23, 2015, in Memphis, TN; and
WHEREAS, the approximate cost of this conference is $1,600.00, as President elect for
the California Fire Chief's Association -Fire Prevention Officers Southern Division, all costs
related to attend this conference are paid for by the California Fire Chief's Association (Cal
Chiefs);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. In accordance with City policy, out of state travel is hereby authorized for Fire
Marshal Metz to attend the International Code Council Building & Fire Code
Hearings on April 20-23, 2015, in Memphis, TN.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad on the lOth day of March, 2015, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Blackburn, Schumacher, Wood, Packard.
NOES: None.
