RESOLUTION NO. 2015-053
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING OUT OF STATE TRAVEL FOR THE
CARLSBAD FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, City Council Policy Number 2 governs requests for out of state travel by
employees when such travel benefits the City of Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that it is in the public's best interest to authorize out
of state travel for Battalion Chief Osuna to attend the International Critical Incident Stress
Foundations 13th Biennial World Congress on Stress, Trauma and Coping on May 11-16, 2015, in
Baltimore, MD; and
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Fire Department will be utilizing funds that have been accrued
through their participation in the California Fire Fighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee
(CAUAC);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. In accordance with City policy, out of state travel is hereby authorized for
Battalion Chief Osuna to attend the International Critical Incident Stress Foundations
13th Biennial World Congress on Stress, Trauma and Coping on May 11-16, 2015, in
Baltimore, MD.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad on the lOth day of March, 2015, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Blackburn, Schumacher, Wood, Packard.
NOES: None.
