CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CARLSBAD TO ENTER
INTO THE INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN TASK FORCE
4 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE CITY OF SAN

WHEREAS, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) is a recipient of a United States
Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) grant to
enforce laws regarding internet crimes against children; and
WHEREAS, The SDPD is utilizing the grant to operate the San Diego Internet Crimes
11 Against Children (ICAC) Task Force; and
12 WHEREAS, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is a multi-agency team
13
created to properly investigate those who sexually exploit children through the use of the
14
internet; and
15
WHEREAS, The City of Carlsbad intends to participate in the Internet Crimes Against
16
17 Children Task Force by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
19 California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The Council approves and authorizes the Chief of Police to execute the
Memorandum of Understanding between the San Diego Police Department and the

24 Carlsbad Police department on behalf of the City of Carlsbad and thereby showing
25 the City of Carlsbad's commitment to participate in Internet Crimes Against Children
Task Force.
