2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL FOR POLICE
DEPARTMENT STAFF TO ATTEND THE INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST
4 CHILDREN CHAT INVESTIGATIONS TRAINING IN TAMPA, FLORIDA

WHEREAS, the City Council concurs that it is in the public interest to authorize out-of-
state travel for two detectives to attend the Internet Crimes Against Children Chat Investigation
Class in order to further the investigation and prosecution of internet crimes against children;
and
9 WHEREAS, the Police Department has entered into an MOU with the Internet Crimes

14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
15 California, as follows that:
Against Children Task Force, who has grant funding from the United States Department of
Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to pay the cost of the training and
all out-of-state travel expenses.

1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. That out-of-state travel is hereby authorized in accordance with city policy for
two detectives to attend the Internet Crimes Against Children Chat Investigation
Class in Tampa, Florida from May 20-22, 2015
