RESOLUTION NO. 2015-090
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR
THE LIBRARY RENOVATION PROJECTS AND AUTHORIZING THE
RELEASE OF INVITATIONS FOR BIDS, PROJECT NO. 4020 AND
4030.
WHEREAS, City facilities are necessary to meet the current and future Library & Cultural
Arts services within the City of Carisbad; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools,
equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to renovate the Georgina
Cole (Cole) and Carisbad City Library (Dove) libraries. Project Nos. 4020 and 4030, have been
prepared and are on file in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are
incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, funding for said project has previously been appropriated from the General
Capital Construction Funds in the amount of $11,346,529; and
WHEREAS, payment of prevailing wages will be required as part of the subsequent
construction contract; and
WHEREAS, Public Contract Code ("PCC") §20101 authorizes cities to pre-qualify
contractors who wish to bid on public works contracts; and authorizes staff to release invitations
to bid to the qualified contractors; and
WHEREAS, city staff prequalified five contractors to submit bids for the Library Renovations
Project in accordance with PCC §20101.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Carisbad, California
as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

Projects, Project Nos. 4020 and 4030 are on file in the Public Works-Engineering Department of
the City of Carlsbad and are hereby approved.
3. The City Clerk of the City of Carisbad is hereby authorized and directed to publish,
in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting Bids for the Library Renovations
