2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ALLOWING STAFF TO RESEARCH ALTERNATIVE
SOLUTIONS FOR A NEW FIRE STATION NO. 2 AND RETURN TO
4 COUNCIL WITH A REPORT AND RECOMMENDED ACTION

WHEREAS, the current Fire Station No. 2 has served the community of La Costa for 45

7 years and is a critical component of emergency service delivery with its southern, central
8 location within the City of Carlsbad; and
^ WHEREAS, Fire Station No. 2 is unable to accommodate modern fire equipment or

14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
15 California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The Council authorizes staff to research alternative solutions for a new Fire
Station No. 2 and return to Council with a report and recommended action.

WHEREAS, staff believes the existing lot will not yield the square footage necessary for a
modern fire station;
