HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-05-19; City Council; Resolution 2015-116EXHIBIT 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2015-116 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR A LIBRARY 3 SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY ACT GRANT OF $5,000 THROUGH 4 THE CALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY 5 WHEREAS, the Carlsbad City Library is the destination for information, enjoyment of 6 reading, lifelong learning, and cultural enrichment for those who live, work and play in 7 Carlsbad; and 8 WHEREAS, the California State Library and Infopeople awarded an opportunity to 9 participate in the seventh Eureka! Leadership Institute to Lead Librarian Erin Zocco; and IJ WHEREAS, a component of the Leadership Institute is to submit a Library Services and 12 Technology Act (LSTA) grant application for a small award that will support the implementation 13 of a year-long project that represents a nexus of community needs; and WHEREAS, the Library & Cultural Arts Department and City Council support the project grant application for the lifelong learning program MOVE: Mind, Body, Spirit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, 14 15 16 17 2g California, as follows: 19 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 20 21 22 23 24 25 Administrative Services Director to appropriate all received funds to the Library & 26 Cultural Art's Department operating budget for use which is consistent with the grant. 27 28 2. That the City Council authorizes application for a Library Services and Technology Act grant of $5,000 through the California State Library to support the grant application for the program MOVE: Mind, Body, Spirit. 3.
