2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CAUFORNIA, ACCEPTING A FISCAL YEAR 2015-16 DONATION OF
$78,685 AND A PLEDGE OF $31,315 IN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
4 FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE CARLSBAD CITY UBRARY TO THE
CARLSBAD LIBRARY & CULTURAL ARTS DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Friends ofthe Carlsbad City Ubrary have donated $78,685 to the City of

"7 Carlsbad for the Carlsbad City Library; and
8 WHEREAS, the Friends ofthe Carlsbad City Library have pledged an additional $31,315
^ in direct support for Library programs during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the donation from the Friends ofthe Carlsbad City Library augments the
operating budget for the Library allowing the purchase of materials and the continuation of
programs for the community that otherwise might not have been possible.

15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
16 as follows that:

2j the Carlsbad City Library and directs a letter of thanks, on behalf of all residents of
22 Carlsbad, and hereby authorizes the Administrative Services Director to appropriate
23 the received funds to the Ubrary & Cultural Arts Department operating budget to
support the collection and programs.

1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts the cash gift of $78,685 and an additional pledge of
$31,315 in direct support of the Library's collection and programs from the Friends of
