2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
4 POINSETTIA LIFT STATION STANDBY PUMP SYSTEM, PROJECT NO.

"7 WHEREAS, the installation of a standby pump system will enhance the reliability of
8 Poinsettia Lift Station with improved redundancy reducing the potential of wastewater
^ overflow at that station; and
WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing all labor, materials, tools,

equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental to the Poinsettia Lift
12
Station Standby Pump System, Project No. 5529 have been prepared and are on file in the
14 Public Works Department ofthe City of Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and
15 WHEREAS, the project is exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) per
^ ^ State CEQA Guidelines Section 15303(d)-New Construction of Small Structures; and
WHEREAS, funds in the Sewer Replacement Fund are sufficient forthe project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows that:

21 1. The above recitations are true and correct.
22 2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents for the Poinsettia Lift
Station Standby Pump System, Project No. 5529 are on file in the Public Works Department of
the City of Carlsbad and hereby approved.
3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to

publish, in accordance with state law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting bids for the Construction

1 Poinsettia Lift Station Standby Pump System, Project No. 5529, in accordance with the plans,
2 specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.

ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
COMPLETION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
The contractor has constructed the improvements required for Project No. 5503-9, Poinsettia
Lift Station Outfall Sewer Manhole Covers, and has requested that the City of Carlsbad accept
the public improvements. City forces have inspected the public improvements and found them
to be satisfactory. The public improvements consist of:

PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR CERTIFICATION OF COMPLETION OF IMPROVEMENTS

CITY MANAGER'S ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS
The construction of the above described public improvements is deemed complete and hereby
accepted. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to record the Notice of Completion and release
the bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
The City of Carlsbad is hereby directed to commence maintaining the above described
improvements.
