2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL FOR POLICE
DEPARTMENT STAFF TO ATTEND INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST
4 CHILDREN INVESTIGATIVE TECHNIQUES TRAINING IN PHOENIX,
ARIZONA

^ WHEREAS, the City Council concurs that it is in the public interest to authorize
^ out-of-state travel for one detectives to attend Internet Crimes Against Children Investigative
8 Techniques training in Phoenix, Arizona in order to broaden and enhance their professional
9 knowledge base, and improve their ability to properly investigate internet child abuse cases in
Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is a member of the Internet Crimes Against
22 Children Task Force, which has federal grant funding to pay the cost of the training and all out-
13 of-state travel expenses.
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. That out-of-state travel is hereby authorized in accordance with city policy for

19 one detectives to attend Internet Crimes Against Children Investigative Techniques
20 training in Phoenix, Arizona, October 26 to 30, 2015.

1 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City
2 of Carlsbad on the 25**^ day of August, 2015, by the following vote to wit:
