2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, TO APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF
FURNITURE AND EQUIPMENT FROM AGATI, INC. AND YAMADA
4 ENTERPRISES IN AMOUNTS NOT TO EXCEED $155,750 AND
$164,205, RESPECTIVELY, FOR THE LIBRARY RENOVATION
5 PROJECTS, PROJECT NOS. 4020 AND 4030.

7 WHEREAS, City requires furniture and equipment for Library Renovation Projects Nos.
8 4020 and 4030; and

WHEREAS, Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 3.28.100 allows for the purchase of goods
10
and/or services by contract when the other agency has made their purchase in a competitive
11
manner; and

13 WHEREAS, the new standardized library furniture and equipment from Agati, Inc. and
14 Yamada Enterprises are available for purchase through cooperative purchase agreements
1^ competitively selected and priced through the Foundation for California Community Colleges

20 Renovation Projects Nos. 4020 and 4030 and no additional appropriation is required.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bythe City Council ofthe CityofCarlsbad, California
as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the furniture and equipment purchases from Agati, Inc. and Yamada
Enterprises in amounts not to exceed $155,750 and $164,205, respectively, are

(Agreement CB#13-017) and the California Multiple Award Schedule (Agreement #4-15-00-
0106D), respectively.
WHEREAS, funding for these purchases is available in the project budgets for Library
1 acceptable and the Mayor is hereby authorized to approve the purchases
2 through the competitive purchase agreements stated above.
3 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting ofthe City Council ofthe City
4 of Carlsbad on the 25**^ day of August, 2015, by the following vote to wit:
