CAUFORNIA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR POUCE
EQUIPMENT THROUGH THE FISCAL YEAR 2015 EDWARD BYRNE

WHEREAS, CaHsbad Police Department has been allocated funds through the Fiscal Year

y 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program to support activities to prevent
8 and control crime and to improve the criminal justice system; and
9 WHEREAS, the application for the Fiscal Year 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice
10
Assistance Grant was heard during a regularly scheduled council meeting and the public was
11
given an opportunity to provide comments; and
12
WHEREAS, CaHsbad Police Department proposes to purchase equipment for two sergeant
j4 vehicles, a portable wireless surveillance camera system, cheek rests for rifles and a streaming
15 television system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bythe City Council ofthe CityofCarlsbad, California,

as follows:

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.

2Q 2. That the purchases specified are authoHzed in compliance with the grant.
21 3. That the Interim City Manager of the City of CaHsbad or her designee is hereby
22 authoHzed and directed to execute said award with the US Department of Justice for
receipt ofthe subject grant funds, as well as any required reports and/or final
statements.

4. That the Administrative Services Director is authorized to appropriate $17,148 for
Fiscal Year 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program purchases
to the Public Safety Grant Special Revenue Fund.
