RESOLUTION NO. 2015-289
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL FOR POLICE
DEPARTMENT STAFF TO ATIEND THE INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST
CHILDREN (ICAC) FLORIDA REGIONAL CONFERENCE IN ORLANDO,
FLORIDA

WHEREAS, the City Council concurs that it is in the public interest to authorize
out-of-state travel for one detective to attend Internet Crimes Against Children Internet Crimes
Against Children (ICAC) Florida Regional Conference in Orlando, Florida in order to expand their
efforts and knowledge base with highly specialized training focused on investigating and
prosecuting technology-facilitated crimes against children in Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is a member of the Internet Crimes Against
Children Task Force, which has federal grant funding to pay the cost of the training and all out-
of-state travel expenses.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. That out-of-state travel is hereby authorized in accordance with city policy for
one detective to attend Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Florida Regional
Conference in Orlando, Florida from December 14 to 16, 2015.
