HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-11-17; City Council; Resolution 2015-2901 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 2015-290 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING OUT-OF-STATE TRAVEL FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT STAFF TO ATTEND THE INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN (ICAC) 2016 NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING ON CHILD EXPLOITATION IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA Exhibit 2 WHEREAS, the City Council concurs that it is in the public interest to authorize out-of-state travel for three detectives to attend Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) 2016 National Law Enforcement Training on Child Exploitation in Atlanta, Georgia in order to attend lectures and hands-on computer workshops designed specifically for local, state, tribal and federal law enforcement personnel and prosecutors who are responsible for combating child exploitation; and WHEREAS, the Police Department is a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which has federal grant funding to pay the cost of the training and all out- of-state travel expenses. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows that: 1. The above recitations are true and correct. 2. That out-of-state travel is hereby authorized in accordance with city policy for three detectives to attend Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) 2016 National Law Enforcement Training on Child Exploitation in Atlanta, Georgia from April 19 to 22, 2016.
