RESOLUTION NO. 2016-043
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF $5,000 FROM THE
FRIENDS OF THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY IN MEMORY OF
MAUREEN TRACY TO THE LIBRARY & CULTURAL ARTS
DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
DIRECTOR TO APPROPRIATE THE RECEIVED FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library have donated $5,000 to the City of
Carlsbad for the Carlsbad City Library in memory of Maureen Tracy; and
WHEREAS, Maureen Tracy was a former President and active member of the Friends of
the Carlsbad City Library; and
WHEREAS, the donation from the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library augments the
operating budget for the Library allowing the purchase of materials and the continuation of
programs for the community that otherwise might not have been possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts the gift of $5,000 in support of the Library's collection
and programs from the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library and directs a letter of
thanks, on behalf of all residents of Carlsbad, and hereby authorizes the
Administrative Services Director to appropriate the received funds to the Library &
Cultural Arts Department operating budget to support the collection and programs.

of Carlsbad on the ath day of March 2016, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Wood, Schumacher, Blackburn, Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
