A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A DONATION OF
$46,100.87 FROM THE CARLSBAD LIBRARY AND ARTS
FOUNDATION TO THE LIBRARY & CULTURAL ARTS
DEPARTMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATIVE
SERVICES DIRECTOR TO APPROPRIATE THE RECEIVED FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation has generously offered to donate
$46,100.87 to the City of Carlsbad's Library & Cultural Arts Department, as follows:
$32,100.87 from its Cultural Arts Fund, $9,000 from its general account and, $5,000 from
representing a donation from library patron Randy Ziglar, and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this donation will provide partial funding for seat replacement
in the Ruby G. Schulman Auditorium, partial funding for programs presented in alternative
spaces during the remodel period and Dove Library improvements supporting public computing
services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California as
follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council accepts the gift of $46,100.87 from the Carlsbad Library and
Arts Foundation and directs a letter of thanks, on behalf of all residents of
Carlsbad, and hereby authorizes the Administrative Services Director to
appropriate the received funds.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City of Carlsbad on the
22nd day of March 2016, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Wood, Schumacher, Blackburn, Packard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
