2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD,CALIFORNIA,AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
3 MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT REGARDING
4 THE BALLOT MEASURE RELATING TO THE
CONSTRUCTION OF A REPLACEMENT FOR FIRE
5 STATION NO.2 LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF EL
CAMINO REAL AND ARENAL ROAD

7 WHEREAS,a General Municipal Election is to be held in the City of Carlsbad,
8 California,on November 8,2016,at which there will be submitted to the voters the
9 following measure:

Do the voters of the City of Carlsbad approve spending existing city funds
11 Yesfrom various sources, including the General Fund,in an amount to exceed
12 $1 million to construct a replacement Fire Station 2 located at the
13 intersection of El Camino Real and Arena! Road for an estimated cost range No
14 of $7 million up to $10.5 million?
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
15
16 Carlsbad, California, as follows:
17 1.That the above recitations are true and correct.
18 2.That the City Council authorizes the following Council Members to file a
19 written argument in support of the measure, not to exceed 300 words,
20 accompanied by the printed name(s) and signature(s) of the author(s)
21 submitting it,in accordance with Section 9283 of the California Elections
22 Code and to change or withdraw the argument until 5:00 p.m. on June 28,

2016, after which no arguments for or against the measure may be submitted
24
to the City Clerk's Office:

1 3.That the City Clerk Services Manager shall certify to the passage and
2 adoption of the Resolution.
3 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of
