RESOLUTION NO. 2016-154
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A FISCAL YEAR 2016-17 DONATION OF
$71,000 AND A PLEDGE OF $42,950 IN ADDITIONAL SUPPORT
FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY TO THE
CARLSBAD LIBRARY & CULTURAL ARTS DEPARTMENT
EXHIBIT l
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library have donated $71,000 to the City of
Carlsbad for the Carlsbad City Library; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library have pledged an additional $42,950
in direct support for library programs during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the donation from the Friends of the Carlsbad City Library augments the
operating budget for the Library allowing the purchase of materials and the continuation of
programs for the community that otherwise might not have been possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council ofthe City of Carlsbad, California,
as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The City Council accepts the cash gift of $71,000 and an additional pledge of $42,950
in direct support of the library's collection and programs from the Friends of the
Carlsbad City Library and directs a letter of thanks, on behalf of all residents of
Carlsbad, and hereby authorizes the administrative services director to appropriate
the received funds to the Library & Cultural Arts Department operating budget to
support the collection and programs.

Carlsbad on the 26th day of :!!!!Y, 2016, by the following vote to wit:
