RESOLUTION NO. 2016-183
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA,AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN THE CONSTRUCTION
CONTINGENCY IN THE AMOUNT OF $250,000 FOR THE CARLSBAD CITY
LIBRARY RENOVATION PROJECTS, PROJECT NOS. 4020 AND 4030.
WHEREAS,by Resolution No. 2015-157 dated June 23, 2015, the City Council accepted the bid
submitted by Prava Construction Services, Inc. and authorized the Mayor to execute the Contract for
the Carlsbad City Library Renovation Projects, Project Nos. 4020 and 4030; and
WHEREAS,the City of Carlsbad and Prava Construction Services, Inc. entered into an Agreement
for furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary
or incidental to the Carlsbad City Library Renovation Projects; and
WHEREAS,Resolution No.2015-157 authorized the City Manager to approve Construction
Change Orders up to $710,000 for Project Nos. 4030 and 4020; and
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,has determined it necessary and
in the public interest to increase the contingency for Project Nos. 4020 and 4030 by $250,000; and
WHEREAS,funding for the increased contingency amount is available in the project budget.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,as
follows:
1.That the above recitations are true and correct.
2.That the construction contingency for the Carlsbad City Library Renovation Projects,
Project Nos. 4020 and 4030 is increased from $710,000 to $960,000.
3.The City Manager is hereby authorized to approve Change Orders up to $960,000.
