RESOLUTION NO. 2017-075
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CARLSBAD CITY LIBRARY TO APPLY FOR A
GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA LIBRARY LITERACY SERVICE, TO ACCEPT ANY
AWARD, AND AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR TO
APPROPRIATE ANY FUNDS RECEIVED.
WHEREAS,the Carlsbad Library Literacy Program provides training to meet the literacy needs
of adults; and
WHEREAS,the Carlsbad City Library Literacy Program supports the priorities of the City Council
and the objectives of the Library; and
WHEREAS,the California State Library will provide additional support for the Literacy Program
with grant funds.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,as
follows:
1.That the above recitations are true and correct.
2.That the City Council authorizes the Carlsbad City Library to apply for a grant from the
California State Library for the California Library Literacy Service Act funds.
3.That the City Council accepts any award of grant funds and authorizes the Administrative
Services Director to appropriate any received funds to the library budget.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of Carlsbad on
the 9th day of May, 2017, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES:M. Hall,K.Blackburn, M. Schumacher,C.Schumacher, M. Packard.
NOES:None.
ABSENT:None.
